What is the Benefits When You are Work From Home?

Work at Home Mom

Working from home isn’t without its problems, however. Not being accountable to a boss or co-workers every minute of the day is great, but at the same time requires the sometimes super-human ability to stay motivated and on task.

This post will look at strategies you can implement in order to stay focused, motivated, and productive when working from home.

1. Network

Networking is important for anyone working in the industry, and even more so for at-home workers. You have likely heard the African proverb: If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go with others.

2. Get Dressed

You’ve heard the saying, “dress for success,” but does it apply when you work from home? Does what you wear actually impact your daily motivation and productivity?

3. Have A Separate Office Space

Having a dedicated work space is important not only for maintaining a healthy work/life balance, but for staying on task. When you work from home, there are myriad possible interruptions.

4. Have A Career Mentor

Networking is great, but it does have its limitations. While networking is a give-and-take endeavor, having a career mentor means having your own professional encourager and cheerleader.

5. Exercise During The Work Day

Research shows that people who exercise during the workday are more productive than those who don’t. This is significant: you can actually use work time to exercise, and still achieve the same — or higher — levels of productivity.

How to Optimize Your website For Getting Rank and Traffic?

Why am I not getting enough traffic on my website??? Because generating traffic on a website is not as easy as generating traffic on road. How you wish that you could answer this to your client but the sad fact is that you can’t, unless you are ready to lose your job. So what can you do? Read this blog and learn about some awesome SEO techniques, apply them, get awesome results, send it to client and lead a happy life. So sit back and see if you have implemented any of the below SEO optimization techniques.

Write Lengthy, Useful and Authoritative content:

Content is often considered as the king of SEO. If you have good and informative content on your website, people will stay on the page and read it.

Oleg Korneitchouk, Digital Marketing Director at SmartSites says, “One thing you can do to improve your SEO is to write lengthy, useful and authoritative content relating to the content of your website. In a study involving 20,000 keywords, the average content length for a web page that ranks in the top 10 results for any keyword on Google has at least 2,000 words which makes it more likely to be shared on other websites and social media. This gives search engines a reason to rank you higher in search engines and also allows you to include more similar/relevant keywords throughout the page.

Keyword Research:

Conducting keyword research is very common but do you use that research in the right way.

Ryan Ostrove, a SEO consultant says, “I do keyword research before I even decide on a piece of content to produce. I then make a tailored piece of content for the keyword I select. (Based on competition vs search volume vs if it’s a buying keyword) Once you have your tailored piece of content with all on-page SEO done I usually have no problem getting it near the top of Google. The key is to aim at things you can hit, you don’t try and rank for a term like credit cards unless you have the time and budget for it.“

Various tools are available that can help you to carry out extensive keyword research, Google Adwords Keyword Planner being most popular of all. You can also use Wordtracker, Uber Suggests and Keywordtool that will help you to search for the long tail keywords as well.

Getting Backlinks:

According to Rob de Ville, co founder of Duobus design, Back links are king in the world of SEO. Legitimate sites that are linking back to your website will increase your organic visibility in Google due to having an authoritative stance on particular information as well as having content that is sought after by individuals. 96% of all web traffic starts with the search engine; back links make sure your original content can be found organically towards the top of google.” So make sure that your website has enough backlinks to its credit which will help it to rank higher.

There are various ways through which you can get the backlinks, some of which are as follows:

  • Blog Commenting
  • Social Bookmarking
  • RSS Directories
  • Helping people out on HARO
  • Internal linking of your other blog

Long tail keywords:

Long tail keywords will help you rank higher as the competition for them is quite low. Try incorporating the long tail keywords in your blog and you shall see the increase in traffic to your blog page.

Adam Johnson, SEO specialist at QuoteWizard says, “Publishing content designed to target long tail keywords will allow you to rank higher on lower searched terms where there isn’t much competition. Long tail keywords are an effective local SEO technique and what we can say as pain point content. One of the best pieces of content is to publish articles targeting localities. We have published 50 states and 50 city pages focused on local car insurance. The idea there is we are able to rank highly for long tail searches like ‘car insurance Seattle’. The idea of pain point content is to create content that answers pain point search questions like What car insurance do I need after a DUI?”

Mobile Friendly Website:

A mobile friendly website is one of the key factors for carrying out SEO successfully as it will also affect your the affiliate marketing strategy.

According to Alex Straley, Online Marketing Analyst at Perfect Search Media, “After Google’s recent updates to mobile site rankings, having a good mobile layout is even more important. There are easy ways to do this if your site doesn’t have it automatically depending on what your site is built on. For example, WordPress has some plugins that will allow you to adjust the theme based on what kind of device you’re visiting from. While mobile traffic typically has a 10 to 20% higher bounce rate than desktop traffic, it can be a great source of conversions if you keep your mobile experience nice and simple. Over time this can also reduce your bounce rate, helping your mobile rankings to improve even more. “

Create Tutorials and How to Guides

People always look up to Google when they are learning something new or want to know something in detail. Make the most of it.

Lachlan Wells of Optimising SEO says, “Creating Tutorials and How to Guides is a great way to capture extra traffic from long-tail queries. Find out the most common questions people ask about your product. You can ask your sales staff, or better yet, see what questions Google auto suggests when you type your keyword and ‘how to’, ‘why does’, ‘when will’ etc. into the search bar. Once you’ve found a commonly asked question that returns poor or uninteresting answers, write a blog post that answers the question far better and in detail.

For example, a client of ours is a software developer that uses a platform called Microsoft Dynamics. By creating regular how-to guides on their blog, they’ve more than doubled the number of visitors they get from Google. 57% of their search traffic is people who’ve clicked one of their blog posts in their search results.”

Implement these effective SEO techniques in your Digital Marketing Strategy and you shall see the positive change in the results soon. You can also stay updated about the recent news on SEO by following the Top 10 SEO Experts on Twitter.

Important Points For Starting Career in SEO?

If you’re looking to get into SEO, as obvious as it sounds, start to BLOG.

Really treat your blog like a client, this would give you a good insight into the basics and you can then go from there.  What is crucially important is to blog about an area you have a hobby in or passion about, otherwise you will lose steam and willingness to write for it very quickly.

This is a question that crops up often, and usually there’s some fairly bog standard responses, the likes of: ‘start blogging’, ‘get your name out there’, ‘read more’. While I do agree with these, personally I would recommend you focus on:

  • Don’t be afraid to move – Bit of a controversial one this, but I believe that when you are starting your career you are at your most influenceable – use this to your advantage. Too often I see others simply ‘existing‘ in roles that don’t challenge them.
  • Don’t be afraid to try new things
  • Know your strengths and specialise – One thing that I would recommend any individual starting out in there career (any career in that matter) is to recognise your talents, and understand your flaws. There is no single better advice that I can give. Specifically in SEO, aim to broaden your experience, but constantly question yourself at what you like most. is it: Outreach and link development, creating content, technical SEO…? Know your strengths and play to them.

Tips to make your website boost your business

Tips to make your website boost your business

1. Think like a visitor – you need to take the time to look at your website as a potential customer would see it? How does it look and feel? How easy is it to navigate? Does the content flow? Is there an end goal? Such as a call to action or sales process that visitors are easily lead to? If you are struggling with this, talk to us and we will help critique your site to maximise visitor experience.

2. Capture data – whenever a visitor comes to your site, you need to be clear about what you want them to do, if you have an online shop, you want them to buy a product, but not everyone is ready to buy and not every website is a shop, so you need methods of capturing visitors names and email addresses, you could do this with a simple PDF download, a giveaway that visitors really feel they need to have, make them think “I have to know this” and then they will give you their details.

As an example, an Estate Agent might use the hook “Download this guide – before you instruct your next Estate Agent”. so the visitor feels there is something in that PDF that they don’t know, this is an awesome way to get people to give you their names and email addresses, once you have the data you can reach out to them directly and offer your services and products.

3. Increase your traffic – so it follows that more (decent quality) traffic, will result in more enquiries and sales, so you need to ensure your website is visible in search engines when people are searching for the products and services you offer. Visit our website to find out how to make your site more visible.

4. Mobile friendly – with an average of over 40% of web users browsing on mobile phones and tablet devices, it is more important than ever to ensure your website is mobile friendly, this means it needs to display and function correctly, no matter what device is being used, if the site isn’t working correctly, there is a good chance you will loose business, mobile friendliness is also a factor in Google search rankings. We can carry out a 1 minute test to find out if your site is mobile friendly or not, ask us if you would like to find out if you pass the test.

5. Social media – by making your business an authority on social media platforms, you will be able to stay front of mind, build credibility, trust and harness new business, as well as having company profile pages on Facebook and Twitter, make sure your key team members are using Linked In to create new opportunities and contacts.
